INVESTMENT IN HEALTH CARE INNOVATION PAYS BACK WITH HEALTHY SOCIETY

Celebrating world health day during the pandemics it is important to remember the necessity to strengthen peoples‘ physical and emotional health, further investing in health technologies and biotech.

Lithuanian Business Support Agency (LVPA) together with business invested tens of millions Euros in health care projects creating new methods of diagnostics, products, contributing to progress of medicine.

„We have pandemics, which brought corrections to investment plans and still threatens peoples‘ health. In addition to our planned projects we had to come up with two more Covid related, in order to meet new health care requirements“, − says LVPA director Aurimas Želvys.

According to him, innovative health care projects being implemented in Lithuania create health products of the future, so investment in health technologies and biotech will always be included into EU funding programs.

LVPA administered recent projects Intelect, Experiment, Smart FDI included health care related investment, last year two more extra projects were added - COVID-19 R&D and COVID-19 Products LT. Projects included creation of new medicines, diagnostic of cancer, allergies and infertility, various medical equipment.

Project Intelect provided EUR 89 m of  health care related investment funding, Experiment  - 55 m, COVIDS-19 R&D – 24 m and COVID-19 Products LT – almost 26 m.
