LVPA EVALUATED FIRST APPLICATIONS BY INDEPENDENT COMPANIES

Lithuanian Business Support Agency (LVPA) evaluated first list of companies affected by COVID-19 it received from State Tax Inspectorate. 1055 companies turned out to be eligible for subsidy according to criteria set by government.

Total amount of subsidies for this batch is EUR 2.2 m, on average 2,000 per one company.

„Our task is to conclude as fast as possible, if applicants meet the criteria for state financial support. We have necessary technical posibilities to process the data we get from other institutions. We also aquired a necessary experience to evaluate businesses, while we were evaluating micro companies‘ eligibility for subsidies a few months ago“,− says LVPA director Aurimas Želvys.

He also emphasizes that in order for subsidies to reach companies as fast as possible, it is necessary that all institutions involved were working efficiently. „Preparatory work with data from various public sector institutions, while evaluating companies according to European Commission requirements, is a real challenge, therefore we have to improve databases and format how they are being submitted“,− draws the attention Mr Želvys.

Within the scope of current call independent companies are to receive EUR 50 m of subsidies.
