ASSISTANCE TO BUSINESSES DURING THE SECOND QUARANTINE IS BETTER TARGETED AND FASTER, A SURVEY SHOWS
Current asistance to businesses is more oriented to sectors most affected by COVID-19: catering and travel sectorsare getting more according to analysis of business support subsidies during the first and the second quarantine.
Besides, comparing tempo of assistance distribution, it is almost twice faster during the second quarantine.
„It is obvious that assistance to businesses has to be well targeted and effective, so we aim at most affected and small business. Current subsidies are better targeted than those of last spring: more assistance to hotels and catering businesses and travel organizers“, – says minister of economics and innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė.
Analysis shows that that subsidies to hotels and catering went up by 14.3% during the second quarantine and now is 20.3% of total amount of subsidies.
Comparing two quarantines the average tempo of subsidy distribution during the first was EUR 450,000 a day, and it went up to 800,000 during the second.
During the first quarantine only micro companies were eligible for subsidies, now small and medium companies, as well as companies with more than 250 staff can get the assistance.
EUR 23.3 m of subsidies were allocated to 10,868 companies as of March 1.
