LITHUANIAN BUSINESSES WILL LOOK FOR NEW EXPORT MARKETS FROM EUROPE TO SOUTH AMERICA AND AUSTRALIA
More than EUR 5.2 million has been allocated under the European Union investment instrument ‘New Opportunities LT’ to help the country’s companies find new foreign markets and expand existing ones.
The Innovation Agency evaluated a total of 21 received applications, 20 of which were found to be eligible.
‘In a tense and constantly changing geopolitical situation, it is vital for businesses to seek new opportunities and to reorient their export destinations. The funding will help companies to find new business partners and markets for their products from Europe to South America, and even Australia and Indonesia’, said Aušrinė Armonaitė, Minister of Economy and Innovation.
Twenty projects of the following entities have been funded under the New Opportunities LT measure: the Lithuanian Food Exporters Association, the Vilnius and Panevėžys Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, the Lithuanian Business Confederation, the Lithuanian Engineering and Technology Industry Association, and other business associations and cluster coordinators.
Companies brought together by business organisations will make presentations at international exhibitions and business missions held abroad. More than 400 companies in the country will be able to take advantage of the opportunities to find new export markets under this measure.
A total of 242 export events in 41 countries are planned: 153 business missions and 89 international exhibitions.
The largest number of events will take place in Germany, the USA, France and the United Arab Emirates. Presentations of Lithuanian companies will also be organised in Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Israel, South Korea, Australia, Indonesia, Puerto Rico and elsewhere.
