LOOK AT 2020 – FUNDING ACCORDING TO CONTRACTS EXCEED EUR 380 M, 710 NEW PROJECTS STARTED

In 2020, Lithuanian Business Development Agency (LVPA) has evaluated 38 % more applications for EU funding vs 2019. Amount of funding according to contracts signed also went up and reached EUR 380 m.

In the end of 2014–2020 EU financial perspective agency encouraged clients to invest in R&D, digitization, green agenda, renewables and other projects.

Last year LVPA received 1141 project applications (comparing with 828 in 2019). 710 new projects started. There were 318 new clients, of those 129 representing regional business.

LVPA director Aurimas Želvys notes that last year was important for EU investment system, more attention paid to its corporate values. Administrative rules were simplified. While creating user friendly EU investment system, it is important to tolerate some risks, identify problems and take initiatives. 

„Client orientation is the main priority for LVPA. Even in difficult circumstances there are new opportunities to further reduce administrative burden and pick the best projects for EU investments“, – claims LVPA director.

„During 2020 EU funding of energy projects was almost EUR 107 m, of business support – 82 m, R&D – almost 189 m. When intensive and unpredictable year is over, we are happy to admit that 92.2 % of our client are positive about quality of our services“, – emphasizes director of LVPA investment management service Agnė Vaitkūnienė.
